Sports Medicine

Our sports Medicine physicians evaluate and treat injuries and ailments occurring in athletes as well as athletic-type injuries suffered by folks who may be less-than-athletic. This includes training and overuse injuries as well as acute injuries such as cartilage tears, ligament tears, or broken bones. They are fellowship trained and experienced with state-of-the-art techniques, with or without surgery, to get you back in the game in the safest and quickest way possible.

Common Sports Injuries


Avoiding injury through proper fitness training, safety training, and use of appropriate equipment is ideal, but sports injuries are common and are becoming even more so as our youth get more involved in increasingly intense training and competition and as our aging population stays active later in life. Each sport poses unique risks for injury to different body parts, but overall some of the most common injuries include those to the knee, ankle, shoulder, and elbow, which are discussed in general below with links to more comprehensive sources of information provided.
